Castle of the Cloutous
In 1924, Madeleine and Germain Pouchet run the wine estate, a family heritage. They cultivate their vines in "wine of France". Their son Raymond Pouchet, born the same year, in turn ran the estate until 1989. A pioneer in the relaunch of Malbec, he was one of the first to replant the Malbec grape variety in 1970, on the Causses du Quercy. AOC, thanks to Georges Pompidou in 1971, the name became "Château des Cloutous" in 1984. Bernard Pouchet, son of Raymond, maintained the estate with a master hand for more than 40 years. He is now training his niece Claire Pouchet, sommelier by trade and fourth generation of the Pouchet family to take over the family business in 2022.
