For more than fifteen years, the Verhaeghe brothers, Pascal in winemaking and Jean-Marc in the vineyard, have made Cèdre the benchmark for the appellation. It must be said that they benefit from an exceptional terroir: on the one hand, a cone of particularly stony and constantly moving limestone scree, the famous “Tran”, which gives fine and elegant wines; on the other hand, a soil of pebbles on ferruginous sands, conferring more power to the wines. From ideally ripe and selected harvests, the cuvées reach a rare level of quality and regularity thanks to refined tannins and velvety materials. The Extra-Libre cuvées, without sulphur, are models of success and clarity.
