Les marchés

Morning, noon and evening, winter or summer, there is always an exceptional product to unearth. You will be overcome by emotions and only the choice will be difficult.
This is how the election of Cahors and Prayssac as the most beautiful markets in Midi-Pyrénées was obvious.
During the day, in many villages, all your senses will be awakened and flattered by our local products. In the evening again, the markets of flavors invite you to share with the inhabitants the delicacies that our region offers: melons, duck, foie gras, Cahors and so many others.
All to the rhythm of music and good humor made in the South-West.
Finally, the truffle markets (winter or summer!) will offer you the opportunity to discover all the secrets of this black diamond, succulent, flattering to the taste buds and surrounded by mysteries that specialized guides will reveal to you around a good truffle omelette, for example…
With our markets, stock up on flavors and memories!

Fill up on flavors! The Lot markets are full of enticing smells and shimmering colors. Impossible to spend a stay in the Lot without going for a walk on a market in order to buy fruit, vegetables, melon, wine, foie gras, cheeses (in particular Rocamadour), charcuterie, fish, honey, Quercy pastis, but also dishes like roast chickens.

The market Cahors
Our famous market Cahors has some great assets: located at the foot of Saint-Etienne cathedral on Place Chapou, it welcomes between 60 and 100 exhibitors every Wednesday and Saturday morning.
Our specialties are the famous Malbec AOP wine Cahors, cabécou cheese called rocamadour, pastis quercynois cake, walnuts, truffles, saffron and of course foie gras from the South West.

Prayssac market
This unmissable Friday morning is an institution in the Lot Valley. No less than a hundred greengrocers, charcutiers, cheese makers, winegrowers and even pastry chefs set up their stalls and colorful umbrellas around the village church every Friday morning.
Even in the adjacent streets and the nearby squares, the producers follow one another and trade with the passers-by who parade. The warm atmosphere reigning there often brings it to the rank of "favourite market" for some shoppers!

Montcuq market
This is THE Sunday morning meeting! Along the promenade, between the café terraces, the artists' studios and the beautiful Quercy houses, the colorful stands with the intoxicating scents of this market immerse you in a warm and gourmet atmosphere.
It's all the senses that your basket will be filled with delicacies, crafts and smiles.
Gourmet markets in summer
