The church, in Romanesque style, has a vaulted apse, a dome on squinches at the crossing of the transept and a nave flanked by aisles dating from the 19th century.
Legend attributes the building adjoining the church to the Templars and then to the Hospitallers, but, as historians recall, Montat is never mentioned in their archives.
