The pleasant and green village of Calamane is located on the borders of the Reignac valley. The town is backed by a long viaduct whose construction began in 1881 as part of the construction of the Paris-Toulouse train line.
The name calaman, designating the ridge of the roof, refers to a hill in the shape of a roof.
