Le Quercy Blanc...so named because here the limestone becomes chalk. The softer rock forms plateaus and hills, separated more and more often by pretty cultivated plains. On the summits a diversified and fragrant vegetation of the Mediterranean type (dwarf maples, boxwood, cypresses, lavender…) has settled down while in the valleys, crops (vines, fruit trees, sunflowers…) are developing. Nino Ferrer, put his suitcases there and sang this sweetness of life.
Vigilance when crossing the D820 at Montat.
