The Liauzu

Between Cabrerets and Marcilhac in the Célé valley, the Liauzu (classified as a Sensitive Natural Area) enjoys a very pleasant location, just a few meters from the Célé river. Less imposing and wilder than the Lot River, it is nevertheless more frequented by canoes and kayaks. Since 2022, two via-ferrata routes with free access have also been opened in this sector. If you do not have the necessary equipment, you can rent it from Kalapca Loisirs or Nature et Loisirs. On this cliff, you will find routes with various ratings, ranging from 4a to 7c.

Crégols

We list in the municipality of Crégols, 4 different sites with 66 routes ranging from 5a to 8c. Venture into the famous igue de Crégols, geological curiosity! It is an old underground water reserve whose ceiling has collapsed. Some routes initially equipped as Adventure Terrain have recently been re-equipped (refer to the updates published on the CT46FFME website).

This is at Crégols that you can also practice climbing on natural blocks. This is the only site of this type in the Lot department.

The rock at the Dracs

The Roche aux Dracs site is one of the only multi-pitch sites in the department (you will also find some in Autoire, north of the Lot). It is located on the banks of the Lot, near Saint-Cirq Lapopie, village very popular with visitors, throughout the year and especially in summer. It lists 4 major routes (entry ticket 6B+). Better to be comfortable in the quotations, because the climbing is rather demanding there.

Saint-Gery

A renowned site with its 3300 meters of routes for both beginners and more experienced climbers (4C to 8C). The limestone bar that dominates the village has a total of 300 routes, varying in height from 15 to 40m.

The place is classified by the French Federation of Mountain and Climbing as a site of national interest. Enjoy superb views of the Lot valley, 20 minutes from Cahors and 15min from Saint-Cirq Lapopie.

In summer, favor the sectors to the left of the site (“We only love war and peace”, etc.)

In winter, climb in the sun on the sectors on the right (“the twin caves”, “pointed rock”).
As a bonus we have dug up a video of Dave Graham on site in the 8C+ "Fight at home"

To

Very close to St Géry, above the pretty village of Vers, there are 48 routes in four sectors from 15 to 30m high. The first allows you to climb in the shade in the afternoon (facing east). At the level of the third sector, you will climb near the Roman aqueduct, a vestige of more than 2000 years of history. On this site equipped in the course of the 1980s and 1990s, small holds, precision and foot techniques are on the program. The presence of the Vers River will be welcome in the high summer heat.

Arcambal

On this cliff, your 60m rope will be more than enough. Arcambal is a short cliff with compact gray limestone, which presents a pretty style of climbing almost endemic. 107 routes are referenced on several sectors between 10 and 20 meters high. You will find ratings ranging from 3C to 8B+.Arcambal has a small school sector, separated from the main bar, in the “Casse Noisette” sector. Coming from Cahors, pass the village, after a few bends, the car park is on your left (be careful, it arrives quickly). A few hundred meters before, you will have seen the “Casse-Noisette” sector. It comes in the form of a sharp rock in the middle of a meadow.

Cuzouls

Nearly 70 routes from 20 to 40m high on 7 sectors are to be noted on this site. The routes range from 5b to 8b. The cliff is very white or gray. The “La Plage” sector is aptly named. You climb at this exact spot, on the bank of the Lot, just a few meters from the river. The foot of the routes is however wide and very comfortable. The fairly dense vegetation above the river only allows you to hear the houseboats sail on the Lot, towards Saint-Cirq Lapopie ou Cahors.

Valley of Landorre

In the commune of Cambayrac, below the village sometimes flows a river… This is Landorre. To access the site, you go through the hiking trail which is none other than the bed of the latter. Frame already out of time ordinarily, perhaps you will have the chance to follow it on the way to the cliff. Divided into three different sectors, this site could be described as more confidential. It will be preferred by more experienced climbers. The limestone there is of exceptional quality on the left part, sunny in winter, as for the right part, the rock will be of lower quality but in the shade in summer, in the morning in the circus sector and in the afternoon closed eight sector. Routes ranging from 4b to 8b+.

Montcabrier

Close to Puy-l'Evêque, the cliff of Montcabrier is not far from the bastide village. The equipment began there in 1965 for the training of local mountaineers. Hardly visible from afar or without knowing of its existence, the cliff reveals its magnificent arch only when you are at its feet. In summer, the shade of the latter allows you to climb the sectors to its right from 15 p.m. The entire site offers 103 routes.

Note the presence of a school and shaded sector, to the right of the cliff.
