A creation by Alexis Michalik
From History comes identity, heritage, legacy.
Who are we? Why were we born here?
Passport is the story of Issa, Arun and Ali, three refugees from the Calais camp, an Eritrean, a Tamil Indian, a Syrian. They come from three distant countries, which we don't necessarily know very well. We just know that they don't speak French.
Besides, since they are in Calais, it is because they intended to go to England. But since they are prevented from doing so, they will have to integrate here, in France.
This is their story. As is often the case, there is no moral, just an empathetic, human look at the journey they have taken, and the one that awaits them.
Basically, it's our story. Or maybe that of our parents, or our ancestors. Because if we go back far enough in our genealogy, we all had to, one day, learn the language of a foreign country, and try to integrate. (Note of intent, Alexis Michalik)
A side of the stage will be animated by the artistic team at the end of the performance and will thus allow the public to share a privileged moment with the artists.
