Marathon of the vineyards of Cahors

The 2nd edition of the Marathon des vignes Cahors – The Lot valley celebrates, mixes, sport and conviviality!

Three formats are offered: A marathon, a relay marathon and a half-marathon. The finish of the three races will be held at Cahors on the Valentré bridge, an emblematic building of the city dating from the 14th century.

The marathon and relay marathon will start from Cahors while the half-marathon will start from the town of Luzech. Free shuttle buses will allow participants of the half-marathon to reach Luzech from Cahors.

The circuit of three races winds through the heart of the vineyard over 7 towns: Cahors, Mercuès, Caillac, Crayssac, Luzech, Parnac, Douelle et Pradines.


Add a touch of deliciousness to your racing experience with our two new exclusive meal options:

- The Pasta Party: recharge your batteries the day before the race with a pasta feast! Open to all, runners, family or friends. See you on Saturday May 18 at 19 p.m. at the Salle des Fêtes du Montat.

- Post-race winemaker meal: after the effort, comfort! Share a friendly moment around a delicious meal accompanied by a glass of wine. Meet on Sunday May 19 from 18 p.m. at Espace Valentré in Cahors. In 2024, we mark a new stage with the arrival of the races at the Marathon Village, located at Espace Valentré - Allée des Soupirs.

Program

All along, you will find sports refreshments and tasting “discovery refreshments” where wines and local products will be in the spotlight. Entertainment will also be organized to accompany you throughout the journey.

On arrival, but also open all weekend, the “marathon village” will welcome you to allow you to discover and appreciate the region's flagship regional products and our partners' stands.

But more than a race, it is a festive spirit that the organizers wish to infuse into this Marathon des Vignobles de Cahors – The Lot valley in celebration.

So, for this 2nd historic edition, come in large numbers and don't hesitate to dress up so that together we can all share this moment of celebration and conviviality in a good mood.

Withdrawal of bibs:
- Saturday from 10 a.m. to 18 p.m. at Espace Valentré (Allée des Soupirs - 46000 Cahors).

Bus Shuttles Cahors -> Luzech:
- Buses set up at 8:15 a.m. at the Bus Station (Rue Pierre Mendès-France - 46000 Cahors)
- From 8:45 a.m. of the last bus to the departure area located in Luzech.
- Allow approximately 30 minutes for the journey.

Departure area in Luzech:
- Three competing airlocks are planned (SAS “Elite”, SAS “Festif” and mass start of the Joëlettes).
- From the race at 10 a.m.!
- Enjoy the route, the road is wide open for you through the vineyards until you arrive at Cahors !



Marathon :
42,30 KM • D+340 M • 7H MAX • DEPARTURE CAHORS 9H

It is a loop that begins and ends in the town of Cahors. The departure will take place in front of the Cinema Le Grand Palais. The arrival is planned on the Valentré bridge. Hilly in the heart of the Lot vineyards, the loop passes through the following towns and villages: Mercuès, Caillac, Crayssac, Caïx, Luzech, Parnac, Douelle et Pradines.
The course is made up of 95% asphalt surface and 5% path and is accessible to joëlettes. Disguised or not, you can enjoy entertainment and tastings throughout the route! You will benefit from “Wine and Gastronomy” refreshments from the 8th kilometer, crossing in particular the emblematic castles of the Lot valley, Château Lagrézette and Château de Cayx.



The Relay Marathon:
42,30 KM • D+340 M • DEPARTURE CAHORS 9H
RUNNER 1: 21 km from Cahors in Luzech
RUNNER 2: 21 km from Luzech to Cahors

It is a loop that begins and ends in the town of Cahors. The departure will take place on Boulevard Gambetta in front of his statue. The arrival is planned on the Valentré bridge. Hilly in the heart of the Lot vineyards, the loop passes through the following towns and villages: Mercuès, Caillac, Crayssac, Caïx, Luzech, Parnac, Douelle et Pradines.
The course is made up of 95% asphalt surface and 5% path and is accessible to joëlettes. Disguised or not, you can enjoy entertainment and tastings throughout the route! Each competitor will give their all on the section of their choice to complete the marathon course as a team. Enjoy the atmosphere, the refreshments, the atmosphere!



The Half Marathon:
21,09 KM • D+200 M • 4H MAX • DEPARTURE LUZECH 10H

The start will be given in Luzech, and the finish will be held at Cahors on the Valentré bridge. Free bus shuttles will take you to Luzech from Cahors. The half marathon Cahors is an event for everyone, come with your family, between two “spots” of encouragement, you can taste and visit without moderation! Disguised or not, you will find what you are looking for there. From Luzech to Cahors, you will pass through the villages of Parnac, Douelle et Pradines. The course is made up of 98% asphalt surface and 2% paths, and it is accessible to joëlettes. Through an atypical route between vineyards and villages, discover our gastro-wine relays rich in Lotois specialties as well as numerous activities.
