A Food & Wine pairing to launch the festivities
The feast of Saint Vincent begins with a gala dinner at the Chartreuse restaurant in Cahors. On the menu, a Food & Wine pairing to highlight the wine of Cahors but also another emblematic product of the Lot: the Tuber Melanosporum, or more commonly known under the brand “Lalbenque black truffle”. Each product is highlighted: the wines of Cahors by the winegrowers present on each table of guests, to present all the subtleties of Malbec, and truffles thanks to the menu concocted by Les Bonnes Tables du Lot, an association of chefs from Lot who are committed to presenting the best products from their region.
A Saturday that mixes wine and history
We continue this weekend on Saturday with the traveling tasting in the city center of Cahors. Departing from Villa Malbec where you pick up your kit, set off to meet the winegrowers of the appellation as well as Lot producers for a gustatory stroll through the historic center of Cadurci, all to music!
Conclusion in the heart of the vineyard
We end this weekend of festivities at Saint-Étienne Cathedral, where the Saint Vincent mass was held: a sacred moment between the escort of the statue of the Patron Saint and the barrel by the Confrérie des Vins de Cahors and the Winegrowers of Saint-Vincent Rive d'Olt, the banning of this same barrel and the enthronement of winegrowers by the brotherhood in the cloister of the cathedral. This day ends in the vineyard, with all kinds of activities at the estate to help people discover the appellation. Cahors : scheduled tastings and cellar visits!
Throughout the weekend…
During these few days of festivities, it was not just the historic center of Cahors and the wine estates that came alive. Many restaurants, bars and wine bars have played the game by offering menus with Food & Wine pairings, musical entertainment and meetings organized with different winegrowers over a glass of wine.
