A day in Vinoltis
A morning with a winemaker...
All Mondays and Tuesdays in July and August, you meet a winemaker who comes on site to introduce you to his wines: you can taste wine of Cahors, rosé wine and white wine, perhaps even bubbles, and it is an opportunity to exchange with the winemaker, to discover his know-how which is often passed down from generation to generation. If you feel like it, you can even leave with bottles if certain vintages are to your liking!
For more discoveries, you can go down to the tasting room from the tourist office to discover other wines: an Enomatic is present to maintain until 4 vintages at ideal temperature and under vacuum, to preserve their taste qualities.
A discovery of wine from Cahors to digest ...
In the middle of the afternoon, you participate in a introductory workshop on wine tasting Cahors, an event organized by the tourist office Cahors-Lot Valley. You start by settling down in the garden, facing the medieval city of Puy l'Évêque, to discover the history of the vineyard of Cahors, from Antiquity to today.
Afterwards, you head to the tasting room to begin the initiation. In total, 8 wines are tasted to discover the characteristics of the appellation: the grape varieties, the way in which the terroirs are expressed in the wine, the evolution with age and the aging methods are reviewed.

A gourmet market to end your day...
You end your day at Puy l’Évêque with the Vinoltis Overviews. These gourmet mini-markets are organized in the garden of the village tourist office, with a breathtaking view of the medieval city and the Lot valley.
Several winegrowers are present to taste and sell their wines to visitors but also producers who set up to help you discover local Lotois products: saffron, prunes, walnuts, Rocamadour, truffles and other specialties are there!
For young and old alike...
The scenographic space is a fun space to discover the name of Cahors, the table that you will find in the tourist office offers several activities and applications that allow you to discover:
- the landscapes of the Lot valley,
- the aromas of the Malbec grape variety,
- Food & Wine pairings offered by several restaurants in the vineyard, etc.
A special game of goose Lot valley is also present: a new way to discover the different villages and sites crossed by the Lot, from its birth in Lozère to its confluence at Aiguillon.
