Montcuq

Beyond a funny name, this castrum has within it a historical wealth and undeniable heritage that you will discover in the company of a tour guide, with whom you will leave discovering a village remained for a long time in the hands of the counts of Toulouse.

From its former castle enclosure overlooked by its high master tower, to its suburbs, your steps will follow quietly those of the generations who preceded us. In the 12th century, the Hospitallers of Saint-Jean-de-Jérusalem founded the Saint-Jean hospital and its chapel here, in order to accommodate the pilgrims of Santiago de Compostela walking towards Moissac.

Today, pilgrims still stop in this village located on the GR65 coming from Le Puy-en-Velay… maybe one day we will meet you there?
