Pleasant circuit on cool mornings, but to be avoided during strong storms in the summer period.
A pleasant circuit that will allow you to follow the Rauze valley, a remarkable natural site. This valley is part of the European Natura 2000 network which works to preserve endangered environments and natural species.
It is rich in a dozen protected species of bats, crayfish, dragonflies, butterflies or rare orchids.
Go equipped with suitable shoes and waterproof clothing, protect yourself from the sun, bring water and find out about the weather conditions.
Head towards the Saint-Firmin church. At the first crossroads go left to join the “Mas de Pouget”.
At the intersection with a road (orange markings) continue straight.
In the hamlet, take the road on the left and immediately a path on the right. Then again on the right the way which goes down.
Arrived on the road (orange markings for 100 m), turn left.
Before the bridge, turn left on a shady path. On this path, change direction to the right twice to reach the church of Saint-Pierre-Liversou. At the church, go down the road along the stream after crossing it for the first time (washhouse).
Arrived at the second bridge, cross it and immediately follow the path on the left. After about 1,5 km, go up to the right to join the D 22.
Cross it and take the opposite direction to the hamlet “Les Bories”. In the hamlet, take the D 22 on the left and always straight on until the D 49.
At the D 49, turn right towards Francoulès. At the entrance to "Mas Jourda", go down to the right into the undergrowth.
At the intersection with a road, turn left (laundry, dovecote). Go up to the left before forking left again to see the Saint-Firmin church. Retrace your steps to reach the start.
