Stroll along the Lot, in a magnificent setting, which will take you from the port of Bouziès to the foot of St Cirq Lapopie (or the opposite). From the towpath, the "gabarres" (flat-bottomed boats) were pulled in convoy by men or draft animals.
At the height of the Ganil lock, the cliff falls steeply into the river, which forced the men to dig the limestone rock of the cliff with the sole force of their arms in 1845 over nearly 1km.
It is embellished with a 30m long bas-relief, sculpted in 1985 by Toulouse artist Daniel MONNIER. He evokes his representation of the river and its environment: fauna, flora, rocks, fossils and whirlpools.
