Splendid view over the Lot valley and the perched village. Make the most of your visit to the village of St-Cirq-Lapopie to discover the "geology in the landscape" and the reasons that facilitated the installation of men on this remarkable site. Over the last million years, the Lot has sunk, gradually drawing its valley by clearing the rocky outcrop of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie.
Water “perched” in the village! By gradually eroding the limestones were dissolved, and their residual sands, cemented by the water, allowed the constitution of perched water tables.
. This once allowed each house in the village to have its own well.
