What is a Tourist Office?
It is first of all a public service with mandatory missions:
Reception, Information and Promotion
According to the Tourism Code (article L.133-3), "the Tourist Office welcomes and informs tourists as well as promotes tourism in the municipality or group of municipalities, in coordination with the Departmental Committee and the Regional Tourism Committee. It helps to coordinate the interventions of the various partners in local tourism development”.

Management
The tourist office Cahors Vallée du Lot is an EPIC (Public Industrial and Commercial Establishment).
It is administered by the management committee made up of the college of elected officials (16 elected community members) and the college of socio-professionals (14 tourism professionals representing all sectors of activity). Its president is Mr. Jean-Luc Marx and its vice-president Mr. Rémi Hecquet.
The committee deliberates on all questions relating to the operation and activity of the tourist office, and in particular on the revenue and expenditure budget, tourist office projects, promotional or communication actions, etc.
Meetings bringing together the college of professionals are also organized several times a year to discuss the issues they encounter.
The territories commission is made up of the president and vice-president of the Tourist Office, the presidents and vice-presidents of the intermunicipalities, the technicians in charge of tourism of the intermunicipalities.
It meets once or twice a year to discuss the destination's tourism strategy and discuss major projects.
Information offices
5 tourist information offices open year-round: Cahors, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, Puy-L’Evêque and Montcuq.
4 seasonal tourist information offices: Limogne in Quercy, Castelnau-Montratier, Lalbenque, Luzech and Prayssac.
The Tourist Office also manages 3 tourist facilities
Our team
The tourist office Cahors Vallée du Lot is a team of 30 permanent employees and about fifteen seasonal workers.
4 additional employees complete the team for the management of the Plage aux Ptérosaures and the Phosphatières du Cloup d'Aural.
Our projects
Mandatory tasks:
- RECEPTION & INFORMATION: Welcoming and advising visitors, collecting and disseminating accurate and up-to-date information, getting to know the territory.
- PROMOTION & COMMUNICATION: Promote the destination, increase its notoriety in connection with Lot Tourisme and the CRTL Occitanie
- COORDINATION: Coordinate the interventions of the various local tourism development partners.
- SUPPORT: Support and advise professionals and project leaders.
Our optional missions:
- EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT: the Pterosaur Beach, the Phosphatières, Espace Congrès de Cahors.
- MARKETING: Sell the destination and develop business tourism.
