1924 – 2024: Virebent’s 100th anniversary: “Land work and human well-being” conference

This talk will be given by Joanna Beazley and John Baxendale. There are more living organisms in a handful of organic soil than there are people on the planet... The history of the link between working the land and human well-being goes back a long way; it dates from ancient Egypt. The clinical benefits of working the land began to be studied and recognized in the 18th and 19th centuries. Engaging nature in our daily routine can benefit both our mental and physical well-being. Joanna has demonstrated this in her work with people with psychiatric illnesses and with people with learning difficulties. Joanna and John will talk about their current work in mental health, on their organic farm in the south of England.
At the end of the last conference of the season, come and chat over a cup of tea and share biscuits and treats.
