Curious about industrial heritage, lover of the arts of fire and design? Welcome to Virbanie!
On the occasion of its hundredth anniversary, the Porcelaine du Lot Manufacture opens its doors from June 14 to September 22, 2024, to follow a trail of events.
An invitation to discover a territory in itself, which bears witness to a formidable industrial and creative epic, marked by successes, crises and rebounds. From brick to gold, from factory to manufacture, Virebent tells the story of a family which left its name in the world of forms, and of its heritage, perpetuated today by women and men of passion.
It is to meet them that this celebration, designed as a free stroll, punctuated by exhibitions, installations, workshops and events, organized in the heart of the 20th century industrial site, saved and renovated for XNUMX years by Frédérique Caillet and Vincent Collin.
Meet 33km from Cahors, in the heart of the Lot Valley, in a land of vines and beautiful stones where, at the foot of the medieval village of Puy-l'Évêque, this sensitive route is marked out to discover the history and know-how of 'a Living Heritage Company.
While the Virebent workshops are at the cutting edge of fire arts, the site in which they operate takes us back to another time. Built in the first half of the 20th century, the buildings bear witness to the company's industrial past and a model that is now obsolete. Pampered by its new owners, this heritage serves as a backdrop to the itinerary of installations and exhibitions designed to celebrate its centenary.
