Radicale 1924 is an innovative artistic residency and exhibition project in Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, founded by Chantal Yzermans, Belgian choreographer. For a period of four years (2021-2024) the “Radicale 2024” project welcomes artists and researchers, inviting them to live and work at Maison Routier in Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. This period of artistic residency will lead to a
final celebration during the year 2024, the centenary of André Breton's Surrealist Manifesto, published in 1924.
With an exhibition to be held from September 28 to October 14, 2024, Radicale 1924 will take over the International Center for Surrealism and Global Citizenship for the last stage of the final celebration of the “Radical 2024” project. An exceptional opportunity to look at surrealism in the light of our present by inviting artists who reveal the present with playful, sensory, performative and poetic works, the program strives to meet the multiple challenges of today's world.
